The Ellwood House Museum recently unveiled two new exhibits: Arts in Action and the Ellwood Eclectic. Together, they invite visitors to explore local history in new ways, one through community collaboration and storytelling, and the other through architecture, design, and personal expression.

Spring has sprung at Ellcourt and with it comes not only the budding of flowers and trees, but the return of the various animal and insect species that call Ellwood-Nehring House home.

Behind every exhibit is a story, and sometimes, a bit of elbow grease. The fair ribbon display in our newly expanded Ellwood Green exhibit proved challenging to get into exhibitable condition.

A 3-year update on Project 1879

NIU Cares Day is Northern Illinois University’s annual day of service during which Huskies come together to give back to the local community. This year, Ellwood House welcomed 25 volunteers from NIU Housing to help with a variety of projects across our campus.

Over the last two years, Donna has worked with former Collections Manager Brian Cory to record her institutional knowledge.
