The Ellwood House Museum offers two stunning garden spaces in perfect for your wedding ceremony, elopement, or vow renewal.
Our signature Wedding Garden features the historic Ellwood House Mansion as your dramatic backdrop. Lush landscaping, mature trees, and vibrant floral borders create a romantic, natural setting as you walk down the aisle. Guest seating is nestled within the gardens, offering an intimate and serene atmosphere ideal for celebrating your love.
Whether you're planning a traditional ceremony or a small outdoor elopement in Northern Illinois, the Ellwood House provides a truly unforgettable location steeped in history and charm.
Space available for parties of up to 80.
Available May 15 - October 15.
The garden wedding fee is $500. Discounts are available for use of multiple facilities.
No alcohol is allowed on the grounds.
Outdoor rentals are limited to ceremonies only. Outdoor receptions are not allowed.
Berg Garden
Tucked behind the historic Ellcourt Home, the Berg Garden at the Ellwood House Museum offers a picturesque setting for your outdoor wedding ceremony. This unique space features a stunning Tudor Revival backdrop, mature landscaping, and the charm of a historic estate.
Installed in 2013 through the generosity of Bill and Patsy Lundberg, the Berg Garden has quickly become a favorite among couples looking for a romantic, private, and elegant garden wedding venue. The Berg Garden provides a timeless and memorable setting within the historic Ellwood estate grounds.
For added convenience and charm, the adjacent Ellcourt Home is also available to rent for an additional fee.
