A Guide to Parking during Music at the Mansion

It’s that time of year again…
Time for summer nights with music, food, and fun at the Ellwood House Museum! Music at the Mansion is a fantastic summer event hosted on the Ellwood Mansion front lawn and put on by the DeKalb Park District. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy the FREE live music put on by local performers.
We always look forward to seeing as many of you as possible during Music at the Mansion, but we know our parking situation can be a bit daunting. To alleviate some concerns about parking during this event, we’ve listed a few tips below to prepare before attending:
For best chances of a parking spot, guests should arrive 30-45 minutes prior to the performances anticipated start time. This arrival time does not guarantee parking, but increases chances of space.
Parking in the paved lot is reserved for those with mobility needs and seniors.
All vehicles entering the park will be directed by an Ellwood House staff member to the appropriate parking lot. Please stop for the staff member and await parking directions before pulling into a lot. This process can cause some backups on Linden Place. We appreciate your patience with this process.
We have three lots available; 2 grass lots and 1 paved lot.
If the paved lot is full, all vehicles will be directed to the grass lots until filled.
If all lots are full, more parking is available at 615 N First St, between First Congregational Church and Oakwood Cemetery
This lot is connected to a short, paved, well-lit, wooded path that leads directly to the Ellwood House Park
To eliminate an overload of vehicle traffic, we recommend walking or biking to the Ellwood House Park if you are traveling from the DeKalb area.
We hope these tips helped to prepare you for Music at the Mansion and took away any stress related to the parking process. We love hosting this wonderful summer event, and we hope to see you there. Performances begin at 6:30pm (6pm on 7/8) and conclude at 8:30pm. The Ellwood House Museum is located at 420 Linden Place, DeKalb Illinois.
