Brown Bag Lecture Series: What Are We Celebrating?

The Brown Bag Lecture Series is back for 2026!

In partnership with the DeKalb County History Center, the theme of this year's lecture series focuses on the 250th anniversary of the United States. The series will kick off on Thursday, February 5 at noon at the Ellwood House Museum. Our guest lecturer, Bill Nicklas, City Manager for the City of DeKalb and historian, will speak on his essay centering the question "what are we celebrating?"

This lecture is free and open to the public. Guests are welcome to bring their own lunch to enjoy during this event. This lecture will be held at the Ellwood House Museum Visitor Center, located at 420 Linden Place, DeKalb, IL. Parking is free and on-site, no registration is required.
